Before you leave
for your holiday…

We are ready to provide answers to any questions that might arise before and during your adventure on a sailing boat or catamaran.

Before your holiday

The suggested itineraries are conceived and designed for a medium-to long-term holiday, which is why the proposed formula is weekly (Saturday to Saturday). It is of course possible to make bookings for longer periods if you wish to extend your cruise.

You can make your booking starting from the year before your departure. Booking in advance gives you a wider choice of options in terms of periods, destinations and boats.
In addition, World Wide Charter offers discounts on some “Last Minute” deals throughout the year, so you can book and save on your holiday.

A payment of 50% of the total cost of the holiday, excluding extras, shall be made at the time of booking. The balance of the remaining 50% shall be paid 40 days before departure. In the event of departure within the next 30 days, the full payment will be required at the time of booking.

Extras shall be paid directly at the base during the check-in procedure.

The cost includes the boat rental service and the World Wide Charter Service Pack, which offers:

  • All necessary equipment: cushions, bed linen, blankets, towels, kitchenware, dishes and glasses, tablecloths, coffee machine, safety equipment.
  • Mooring for the whole week at our base.
  • Check-in and check-out service.
  • Final cleaning of the boat and the tender.
  • Welcome pack.

The rates do not include fuel, galley, transport and transfer costs to the base, costs in harbours or at anchor, tourist taxes.

For further information and details, please consult your World Wide Charter contact person.

You can request additional services from your World Wide Charter contact person, including:

  • Acceptance of animals on board;
  • Extra bed linen and towels;
  • Beach towels;
  • Stand Up Paddle (SUP);
  • Wi-fi connection;
  • Transfer service to and from the airports of: Reggio Calabria, Salerno, Naples, Rome and Olbia;
  • Skipper and hostess services;
  • Priority check-in at 2:00 pm.

Extras shall be paid directly at the base during the check-in procedure.

For cancellation policies please refer to the Terms and Conditions page in the contract signed with World Wide Charter.

To drive a sailing boat or catamaran, a boat license is required. However, it is possible to rent a boat without a licence by contacting a skipper directly or requesting assistance from a World Wide Charter consultant.

All boats in the World Wide Charter fleet are covered by a compulsory statutory insurance. Nevertheless, the Insurance does not exclude the obligation for the customer to pay the Deposit.

You can insure your deposit through Pantenius, you will be sent a link to receive a customised offer after booking.

We have a wide range of boats with different sizes and numbers of cabins: from small sailing boats that can accommodate 2 or 4 people, to medium-sized boats for 6 or 8 people, to spacious catamarans suitable for up to 12 passengers.

Pack everything you need for a summer holiday and use a soft duffle bag that you can easily fold up and store in the hold, since hard suitcases are not very popular on board because they risk damaging the boats.

Make sure you bring swimsuits, flip-flops, sarongs, cover-ups and Bermuda shorts and, of course, do not forget the sun cream and some outfits for the days of exploration and evening walks.

As for bathing products, remember to bring environmentally friendly shampoos and soaps that do not pollute the sea.

On arrival at the base

Departure base for the Amalfi Coast:

  • High-speed trains connect Salerno’s central station with other major Italian cities on a daily basis. Local trains connect the “Arechi” station, as do buses number 5 and 24.
  • The “Costiera Amalfitana” airport of Salerno, dedicated to general aviation, is 14 km away. For those arriving by commercial flights, the international airport of Naples Capodichino is 67 km away.
  • By car from the south: follow the A2 motorway and take the exit towards Pontecagnano.

From the north, take the A30 and A1 motorways, exit at Salerno-Fratte, then take the Salerno toll-free ring road and exit at Mariconda.

Departure base for the Costa Smeralda:

  • From Olbia Airport or the Port of Olbia, you can reach us by taxi car rental
  • By bus: Line 601 and 604 http://arst.sardegna.it

All our bases have a car park. We advise you to contact our operators in advance to check the availability of the parking spaces and to obtain information about the specific rates by reserving your parking space in advance.

Unless otherwise specified, you should go to the World Wide Charter office or to the pier at the port of departure. When you book your holiday, our staff will give you all the information you need to carry out the check-in and check-out.

In all our tourist ports, you can find supermarkets and various shops to make the last purchases and prepare the galley for your holiday.

We accept Visa and Mastercard.

The check-in is scheduled for Saturday afternoon at 6:00 p.m.

The check-in consists of two phases: in the first “bureaucratic” part, you have to sign the contract, read the information and make the last payments. During this phase, you will also be given all the information on how and where to spend your time while the boat is being prepared, and how and where to stock up. In addition, our check-in staff will answer all your questions or concerns.

In the second part, which takes place on the boat together with our technicians and the boat driver and/or co-driver, the technical inspection is carried out.

Only after completing both of these phases you can come aboard with your luggage.

The return to the base is always planned for the evening before the day of landing, by 6:00 p.m.

The check-out must be completed by 08:30 on the Saturday of return.

During the check-out, which will take place on Friday evening, it is mandatory to carry out a technical and functional check of the boat to ensure that it is returned in the same condition in which it was handed over at the start of the holiday. After you have landed, our technicians will carry out a second check to ensure that the whole boat is working properly again.

The deposit will be returned on the following Monday.

During navigation

For the duration of your holiday, your main point of contact will always be the Base Manager, the person in charge of handing over the boat on your arrival. He will assist you with any needs or requests during the whole rental period.

All necessary information and contact details will be provided during the check-in procedure.

Night sailing is not forbidden, however, we strongly advise you to pay maximum attention, especially if you are exploring a new route for the first time.

You can select your route from those suggested by our experts or customise your cruise with a tailor-made route. If you wish to hire a skipper, you will have the opportunity to arrange the itinerary directly with him and receive advice on the best bays, beaches, islands and coastlines in the area. Alternatively, if you wish more advice, please do not hesitate to contact a World Wide Charter contact person.

It is important to bear in mind that the itinerary may change depending on weather and wind conditions.

It is safe to cook on board. Our boats are provided with all standard equipment (crockery, pots, pans, cutlery, plates, glasses) and all essential kitchen accessories.

We recommend that you promptly report any damage to our operators for assistance during emergencies and obtain the necessary technical support. Before you leave, you will be provided with the mobile phone number of our Base Manager; do not hesitate to contact him for any help or support you may need.

You can charge and use your electronic devices when your boat is moored in the port and connected to electricity. Moreover, most of our boats are equipped with USB ports for charging phones and tablets at any time, thanks to the 12V power supply.

If you wish to have access to electricity while sailing, just let our team know and they will be happy to offer you a boat equipped with a generator and/or inverter on board.

The outboard motor is included in the transit log, which must be paid upon boarding.

Mooring for the whole week at our base is included in the price. Any other base where you decide to moor must be booked in advance and paid for at the base where the boat will be moored.

On board you will find everything you need for the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom: cushions, bed linen, blankets, towels, kitchenware, crockery, tablecloths, coffee machine, safety equipment.
