Set sail with peace of mind
We want your experience aboard our vessels to be perfect. That’s why we’ve compiled some of the most frequently asked questions from our customers, providing you with all the information you need for an unforgettable vacation.
Before departure
How far in advance can I book the boat?
We recommend booking by January of the departure year, especially if you plan to travel during peak season. This way, you’ll have a wider selection of vessels to choose from and can secure the perfect one for you. If you decide at the last minute, don’t worry—contact us, and we’ll do our best to find a tailor-made solution for your needs!
How many people can board a boat?
The capacity depends on the size of the vessel. We offer sailboats and catamarans ranging from small boats, ideal for 2 or 4 people, to medium-sized options for 6-8 passengers, up to large catamarans that can accommodate up to 12 people. For larger groups, it will be necessary to rent more than one boat. Contact us to find the perfect solution for your group!
How much does a boat vacation cost?

- Smart Line: New or nearly new boats, perfect for those seeking quality at competitive prices.
- Gold Line: The most luxurious vessels in the fleet, ideal for those looking for the highest level of comfort and style.

In all cases, a refundable security deposit may be required at the end of the rental to cover any potential damages to the boat. Contact us for more details.

Can I book just one cabin on a boat?
Yes, we offer the option to book a double cabin with a private bathroom, perfect for traveling alone or as a couple. Contact us for more information.
Do I need a boating license to book a boat?
Yes, to book a boat without a skipper (bareboat), a valid boating license is required. Additionally, a navigation competency certificate may be required depending on the destination.
If you don’t have a boating license or prefer to enjoy your vacation without worries, you can opt to request the skipper service. An expert will handle the navigation, allowing you to relax and make the most of your experience. Contact us for more details.
How do I reach the boat?
Our bases are located near the main airports. You can request our staff to arrange a transfer service for you: a dedicated driver will meet you at the agreed location and take you directly to your yacht, ensuring a stress-free start to your vacation.
Are the boats insured?
Yes, all boats in the World Wide Charter fleet are covered by mandatory insurance, in compliance with current regulations. However, the insurance does not replace the requirement for the client to pay a security deposit, which is necessary to cover any damages or expenses not included.
What happens in case of bad weather during my vacation?
Although summer weather is generally favorable, conditions can change. Our teams, experts in the navigation areas, will provide you with valuable advice on safe harbors, sheltered bays, and the best options to ensure a peaceful and enjoyable vacation, even in case of bad weather. Your safety and peace of mind are our top priorities.
Can I embark for just a weekend?
Yes, it is possible to arrange weekend trips. However, our itineraries are designed for medium to long-duration cruises, with a weekly format. Embarkation takes place every Saturday, with disembarkation the following Saturday morning, or the following week in the case of two-week cruises.
If you have specific requests, contact us: we will evaluate the best solution together.
Can I cook on a sailboat or catamaran?
Certainly! All our vessels are fully equipped for cooking, with dishes, pots, pans, cutlery, plates, and essential accessories. On larger boats, such as the Gold Line catamarans, you’ll also find additional accessories to make your culinary experience even more comfortable and enjoyable.
Can I charge my phone/tablet or use a hairdryer on board?
Yes, you can charge your electronic devices when the boat is docked in port and connected to the power supply. Additionally, most of our vessels have USB ports to charge phones and tablets at 12v even while sailing.
If you wish to use devices like a hairdryer or have electricity available freely while sailing, you can request a boat equipped with a generator. Contact us for more details.
What should I bring with me?
Bring everything you need for a summer vacation: swimsuits, flip-flops, sarongs, shorts, and a few comfortable outfits for evening walks. Don’t forget sunscreen and eco-friendly products like biodegradable shampoo and soaps.
If you’d like, you can add eco-friendly sunscreen and shower gel to your booking, available as an extra service to request at least one month before your departure.
What luggage should I bring?
On a sailboat, space is precious! We recommend bringing soft bags or foldable luggage, which are easy to store once emptied. Avoid hard suitcases or ones with wheels, as they can be difficult to stow and may scratch the wooden floor.
Also, bring a small backpack for your shore excursions, ideal for holding water, spare swimsuits, beach towels, shoes, and other essentials. Some of our bases offer a luggage storage service for a fee, where you can leave any unused luggage on shore. Contact our staff to check availability before departure.
What are the differences between a sailing vacation and a catamaran vacation?
A catamaran is ideal for those seeking stability, spaciousness, and greater comfort on board, making it perfect for families or groups who want privacy and livability. On the other hand, a sailboat is designed for those who desire a more dynamic and adventurous experience, combining relaxation with the authentic pleasure of sailing. Choose based on your vacation style.
Can I bring my dog on board?
Yes, we offer pet-friendly boats where you can bring your dog on board. This service is available as an extra, so we encourage you to contact us for more details and to check availability.
At Check-in
What time is the boat check-in scheduled for?
Our bases are operational from 09:00 to 18:00, but the boat delivery starts at 15:00 and must be completed by 21:00. This allows the team to finish the checks with the previous crew and clean the boat.
The check-in on board will be done with only one person present on the boat; passengers and luggage can only be boarded after the procedures are completed. Meanwhile, guests can wait in the marina areas.
Contract formalities, payment of extras, and the security deposit will take place in the office, with a maximum of two people allowed at a time. Luggage must be left outside the office.
To ensure a smooth check-in, we recommend arriving on time and notifying us in advance of any delays.
What time is the disembarkation (check-out) scheduled for?
Return to the base is scheduled for Friday at 17:00, allowing time for fuel and water tank refills and the technical check-out inspection. Once the boat is docked, you can stay aboard overnight and leave the boat on Saturday morning by 8:30, after the necessary checks.
Please note that mooring at our bases is included, while any mooring at other marinas will be at your expense. Contact us for more details and assistance.
What time does the fuel station close?
The fuel stations generally close at 18:00. We recommend returning to the base in time to refuel and complete the technical check-out inspections.

How can I purchase supplies and groceries (provisions)?
In all our marinas, you’ll find supermarkets and shops for last-minute purchases.
Alternatively, you can use our provisioning service: we will send you a list where you can specify the products and quantities you want. Your groceries will be delivered directly to the boat at the time of embarkation, for a stress-free departure.

Is night navigation allowed?
Yes, night navigation is allowed, but it requires the utmost attention and caution. We recommend avoiding this option if you are not familiar with the route or if you do not have an experienced crew. Safety should always be the priority.
What should I do in case of an accident, damage, or breakdown?
In case of an accident, damage, or breakdown, we recommend contacting your designated Base Manager immediately, whose number will be provided to you at the time of departure. Our team will be ready to assist you with technical support and quick solutions to ensure your safety and the continuity of your vacation. Don’t hesitate to contact us for any emergencies.
What should I wear on the boat?
On the boat, it’s best to opt for simple, practical, and essential clothing. During the day, you’ll spend most of your time in a swimsuit, so avoid packing elegant clothes, high heels, or overly formal items.
We recommend:
- For the day: T-shirts, shorts, flip-flops, sandals, or comfortable shoes with rubber soles.
- For the evening: A light sweater, hoodie, or pants, as temperatures can drop.
- Useful extras: A waterproof and windproof jacket, a sun hat, and a good book to relax on board.
Don’t forget a floatation mattress for your relaxation in the water: it’s a small luxury that makes a difference.
Is a first aid kit available on board?
A first aid kit is available on board with basic medicines, such as band-aids, gauze, and disinfectant.
